Firefighters are working diligently to stop the spread of the fire.
A fire in El Dorado and Placer counties is the largest in California this year.
The fire destroyed 70 structures, and 64,000 acres have been burned.
25 dwellings have been lost, with most of those being single-story residences, and the latest fire has surpassed the McKinney fire size.
The smoke from this wildfire has already caused poor air quality in Oregon and Wyoming.
Still, it is also expected to cause moderate air quality as far east as Rapid City, South Dakota.
In addition to the smoke traveling towards Billings, Montana, which makes for an unpleasant commute, most of the Mosquito Fire area likely experienced a rise in humidity on Wednesday.
Firefighters will use this rain to suffocate the forest fire. More than 6.7 million acres of land burned this year, and most of the fires happened in the Northwest.
