7.6 magnitude earthquake shakes Mexico on the jubilee of two previous quakes
On the anniversary of two devastating earthquakes in Mexico, a magnitude 7.6 earthquake on its central Pacific coast killed at least one person and set off alarms in Mexico City.
There were some reports of damage to buildings. The earthquake hit at 1:05p.m, with a magnitude of 7.5.
The earthquake was located approximately 37 kilometers southeast of Aquila and had a depth of 15.1 kilometers.
One person died who was reported to be in the port city of Manzanillo, Colima, when a wall at a mall collapsed.
There were no instant reports of injuries, but there were damaged buildings in the area of the quake's epicenter.
"We were surprised to see it so strong," 16-year-old resident Carla Cárdenas said.
She ran out of her home to wait with other street residents as the storm began to lack.
