It has the capability of putting up a fight against Airbus and Boeing soon.

For over 20 years, China has been importing planes manufactured by Boeing and Airbus. 

However, with its 2006 5-year plan, China wanted to start manufacturing large aircraft for its underserved market.

For the first time, a Chinese airline is poised to challenge Boeing with one of its newest single-aisle airliners. China has already invested in this project with tens of billions of dollars and, for now, plans on releasing it by December.

Aviation consultant Michael Boyd told Forbes that the C919 was old technology. It was worrying because it could hurt China’s carriers, which are highly dependent on the C919.

China has poured billions into Comac, which only manufactures military planes. They do this so that they will be able to bring status and pride to China.

China can create aircraft without error because of its tech and economic advancements.

The majority of aircraft components are imported. However, 10% of suppliers are Chinese, and there are seven joint ventures with foreign partners.
