An illegal gambling business on Howell was sentenced to 18 months in prison for not showing his taxes.
Steven Bryce has pleaded guilty to filing a false tax return. A sentence is imposed.
Bryce was operating his illegal gambling business from 2013 to the present and filed a false 2014 Individual Income Tax statement with an income of $112,899.
The 2013 tax return was not accurate and true, the defendant admitted. He earned about five times as much money through his gambling business as he reported on his 2013 tax return.
Bryce agreed to pay $338,885 in restitution to the IRS and one year of supervised release.
Patch reported that Bryce faced jail time and a hefty fine.
Sellinger credits the IRS and FBI for greenlighting the investigation.
